Reviewing KCDP Website for Effective Communication

In an effort to monitor implementation of the communication strategy of Kenya Coastal Development Project (KCDP), a scheduled quarterly workshop is underway at Pwani University, Kilifi County from 19th to 23rd October, 2016. The workshop brings together experts responsible for information technology, data management, communication and networking in KCDP implementing agencies as well as from other partners.

Summary of activities being carried out in the workshop and the names of experts responsible are tabulated below.  It is envisaged that on completion of the workshop, the communication gap between KCDP and its stakeholders shall have narrowed substantially.

Task one
  • Creating social media feeds/add plugins for sharing content,
  • Instragram
  • Twitter
  • Youtube
Task two
  • Formatting selected homepage photos with captions
  • Format news items on homepage
  • Website facelift (uploading pics, updating KCDP upcoming events on the calendar videos) and create a digital distribution list
  • KCDP in the news
Task three
  • Review & edit reports on the website, repository for images and video (with captions) and documents
Task four
  • News brief development,
  • Old missed-out News, Newsbrief hard copy distribution list, banners & brochures
Task five
  • Coming up with a visibility strategy, description (and meaning) of analytics
  • KTN and NTV coverage highlighting KCDP activities on environment
